I agree with Matt's answer.
I tried to re-cycle the head gasket on a Honda single. I carefully cleaned the head gasket and put instant gasket sealant between the metal layers of the gasket.
The result ??? Failure !!!!!
I ended up having to strip the head again the install a new gasket because the oil mist past the gasket was driving me mad.
Nobody is as thrifty as me, but I'd reluctantly have to buy a new gasket.

PS Why do you want a head gasket ??? If you have the traditional Savage oil leak, it's likely that it's NOT coming from the head gasket. Read all about it in previous postings.
